Job Description
We are currently in search of AV Installation Technicians who can assume responsibility for the installation and commissioning (including troubleshooting and servicing) of residential and commercial AV systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
A commitment to safety.
System installations which include:
low voltage wiring
Wall plate configuration and trims
Component & rack setup (including cabling)
Mounting video displays, cameras, projectors & screens
Digital signage
Media room configurations, audio systems and control systems
Configuration of managed networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.)
Cable pulls, crimps, splices and terminations of audio, video, and control cables.
Identification and labelling of cables, jacks, wall plates, patch panels, etc. as required.
Assistance with structural installation of displays, screens and projectors, etc.
Troubleshoot any/all AV issues.
Final systems testing.
Load in/out; General housekeeping
Other responsibilities as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Must be able to read and interpret drawings & schematics (e.g. blueprints).
Possess an understanding of AV systems signal flows.
Ability to lift large, heavy objects such as commercial displays with care.
Ability to work from ladders and/or scaffolding.
Knowledgeable with computers and communication programs.
Maintain a high degree of professionalism under pressure.
Experience in a related field (2 years)
Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
Excellent manual dexterity for working with small components.
Familiarity and confidence with a wide assortment of power and hand tools.
Industry-affiliated certifications and/or training considered an asset (Extron, Crestron, QSC, Shure, Poly, etc.).
Safety certifications are considered an asset.
NOTE: This position requires frequent lifting in excess of 50lbs.
Special Requirements
Ability to work long hours to meet deadlines.
Occasional out-of-town / overnight travel may be required.
